Rural Development Programme for 2014-2020 

 

Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 is one of the instruments of implementation of the Strategy for sustainable development of rural areas, agriculture and fishing for the years 2014-2020.

RDP 2014-2020 determines the strategy and the rules for how to use the funds of the European Agricultural Fund for Development of Rural Areas in order to facilitate the development of Polish agriculture and rural areas.

The main goal of RDP 2014-2020 is the improvement of competitiveness of Polish agriculture,  sustainable management of natural resources, climate-oriented measures and sustainable territorial development of rural areas.

The Programme is to implement six EU priorities with regard to rural areas, as specified in Article 5 of the Regulation (EU) No 1305/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD):

 

Priority 1

Facilitation of the transfer of knowledge and innovations in agriculture, forestry and rural areas

 

Priority 2

Improvement in the competitiveness of various types of agricultural businesses and increase in the economic viability of agricultural holdings

 

Priority 3

Improvement in the organisation of the food chain and promotion of risk management in agriculture

 

Priority 4

Restoration, protection and strengthening of ecosystems dependant on agriculture and forestry

 

Priority 5

Support for effective resource management and for the shift to low-emission, climate-change-proof economy in the agricultural, food-production and forestry sectors

 

Priority 6

Promotion for social inclusion, poverty reduction and promotion of economic development in rural areas

 

The total budget allocated for the implementation of the Rural Development Programme for the years 2014-2020 is to amount to more than EUR 13.5 billion (including EUR 8.6 billion EU funds and PLN 4.9 billion national funds).
